OH THE JOY & EXCITEMENT of finding out you’re pregnant!

But no one ever really talks about all that “baby weight.”

One minute you’re craving pickles and ice cream - indulging into the wee hours of the night! After all, you’re feeding TWO!

But what happens when you give birth and this bundle of JOY fails to magically erase all that extra weight with its delivery?

Meet my client Danielle Cozad.

“I grew up an athlete. Thin, in shape and always on the go! I met my husband in the police academy in 2005 and we married the following year. I was happy and content but let myself go with my first pregnancy,” she recalls. “I stepped on that scale the night he was born and couldn’t believe it read 231 lbs!”

A few fad diets here and there and Danielle managed to drop about 16 lbs before she got pregnant for their daughter, tipping the scales this time, at 216.

“When I hired Carmen in the Fall of 2018, I weighed 218 lbs. I was struggling with my image, feeling very uncomfortable and totally lacking confidence. I absolutely hated for anyone to take my picture,” she remarks.

What Danielle hasn’t told you yet, is that she works as a Deputy for Licking County. So of course, being out of shape and overweight was also a big “safety concern.”

Fast forward to 2019. Thirty-four pounds lighter, this wife and mother headed on vacation - looking and feeling her best in quite some time.

“I gained about 5 lbs in just two weeks,” she states. “It creeps back on so easy when you fall back into bad habits. What I have come to realize is that my weight goes up a little and it comes down a little. It would be so easy to throw in the towel and give up but I have held steady at 193 lbs for the past 6 months. A far cry from where I started at 218!”

Danielle has encouraged, inspired and motivated her 12-year-old son Austin to join our fitness family. The youngest member of our crew, Austin hangs with the “big dogs” doing the same workouts the rest of us do just incorporating modifications when and where he needs them. It’s not uncommon to see them LIVE on our Zoom workouts - and we’ve affectionately dubbed them our AC/DC crew - because that’s what their initials create on the screen!

Danielle adds, “I am not where I want to be, I still have weight I could lose. I just need to be 100% committed in the kitchen and stop cheating myself. IF I can share any advice to a newbie, make sure you take those before pictures because they tell more of your story than a mere number on the scale! Hands down, I feel better, I am stronger and definitely happier than when I started. It’s not easy, but we’re all worth it!”
